- 1935 Earl of Cottenham, Mark Pepys, wrote a book containing the
rudiments of the system.
- At this time the Metropolitan Police were having a significant amount of
accidents.
- A new driving school was set up at HENDON.
- In1937 Lord Trenchard, police commissioner, asked Malcolm Campbell to
involve PEPYS. He then took charge of the driving school, HENDON.
- A year later the accident rate was reduced by 70%.
- In1957 The system was adopted for motorcycles.
- By 1970 a 88% reduction in accidents was achieved.
